MYSTERIOUS AL.
Ehecatl Mask
“From my latest series of works, loosely based around Masoamerican gods, Aztec art and the 2012 doomsday predictions, I’m thrilled to announce a new screen-print in two colourways!” and “Blurring the lines between an original artwork and an edition, these prints feature layers of paint-splatter sandwiched between each layer of ink; A technique that’s become synonymous with my paper originals and guarantees each print completely unique.”

The artist wanted the prints to emulate his image-making technique of layering up paint and cut and pasted paper. We achieved this by building up the layers without any knockout of the image below. The result was an interesting tactile effect with ghosted shapes and textures forming across the surface of the print.
Between every layer the artist would also lay down a fine spattering of spray paint - adding to the over all chaotic character of the image, and making each print unique.
The colours were very integral to design and the Sericol colour matching system was used to match to Pantone references supplied by the artist.
Between each and every layer a fine controlled spattering of spray paint was applied.
HAND FINISHED.
There is also a second purple colour way - ‘Twilight’.
edition of 25.
